The New York City Department of Buildings (NYCDOB) ensures Special Inspection Agencies are in compliance with the most up-to-date NYC Construction Codes. NYCDOB approves an inspection agency only after the requirements of 1 RCNY 101-06 are verified as met. A special inpsection agency may perform inspections in accordance with Appendix A of 1 RCNY 101-06. The Special Inspectors and Spectial Inspection Agencies rul (1 RCNY 101-06) required that all agencies performing secial inspections must be registered with the Department and be approved. Approval will be deemded an acknowledgement by the Special Inspection Agency of its obligations to perform special inspections.

The AASHTO, or American Association of State Highway Transportation, is an organization that formally recognizes the competency of testing laboratories to perform specific tests on construction materials . Big Apple Testing is accredited by the AASHTO to conduct laboratory testing to ensure the safest, and most long lasting construction results.
Big Apple Group is also assessed by the CCRL, the Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory, in accordance with the AASHTO Accreditation Program.
