The project consists of the removal and replacement of the dolphin and pier fendering system at Pier 26 and 27 on the Northern Boulevard Bridge over the Flushing River in Queens, New York. The existing timber fenders along the piers will be replaced with rubber fenders. The existing timber dolphin fender system will be replaced with new FRP pile fender system. To top it all off, a rehabilitation of the pier stone facing and concrete.
Big Apple Group NY provides construction monitoring services for this project under the specifications and guidelines issued by the NYCDOT, Thornton Tomasetti and JT Clearly Inc. Monitoring consists of performing pre-construction condition surveys and vibration monitoring done by Big Apple as well as optical monitoring with an Automated Total Station (AMTS).
